Winter = Doldrums. It’s just a fact, especially up here in the Northeast. I actively discourage people from looking into my car because it’s just become a pit, because who wants to clean in the winter??? Not me.
But… I should. So I did. And boy, did it make a difference! Now I actually feel happy when getting into my freezing cold car at 8:15 in the morning, because it’s so clean and nice. Check out my tips for doing a nice DIY interior detail on your car this season!
You Will Need
-
trash bags
-
air freshener spray (like Febreze)
-
upholstery cleaner (like Resolve)
-
car cleaning wipes
-
vacuum
-
Q-tips
The steps to do this are:
-
Get all the trash out of your car. Put it in a trash bag and throw it away immediately. Get rid of that negativity.
-
Get all the rest of the stuff out of your car. Sort it into the things you need in your car and the things that can go inside.
-
With your car empty, vacuum the heck out of all the cracks/crevices/nooks/crannies/black holes. Get all the fabric surfaces and cup holders and especially the vents.
-
Take a Q-tip soaked in cleaning solution and get into the tiny grooves, especially around the console, where gunk and grime build up.
-
Wipe down all the flat surfaces with a cleaning wipe or a damp, clean cloth.
-
Spritz a little Febreze.
-
Put everything back in your car, but organized.
Nice, right? Good luck!
